“Welcome to the Family” No Longer Welcome at NBC, “Ironside” Also Gone

While FOX and CBS provided their new series with good news Friday, NBC was in the bad news business.

The Peacock officially cancelled poorly-rated new comedy “Welcome to the Family” and poorly-rated drama “Ironside.”

That the two shows will no longer have a home at NBC is unsurprising. What did surprise the industry, however, is the fact that they even made it to week three. Both premiered to abysmal ratings, and by the time ratings for their follow-up episodes reached the wires, it was considered a certainty that they were going the way of CBS’ “We are Men.”

Because “Community” and “Chicago PD” will not premiere until January, the network will turn to a variety of options to fill the vacant slots in the coming weeks. The network’s scheduling plans are highlighted below:

Wednesdays at 10PM – Replacing “Ironside”
