No Soup For You, Amy Poehler; Julia Louis-Dreyfus Wins Lead Actress Emmy

Amy Poehler has provided one of television’s most endearing performances since “Parks and Recreation” kicked off several years ago, but it has never before been good enough for a Primetime Emmy for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

It was not this year either.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who has previously won Emmys for her work on “Seinfeld” and “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” won a second consecutive Lead Actress trophy for her work on “Veep.”

In winning, Louis-Dreyfus beat out Poehler, Lena Dunham, Laura Dern, Edie Falco and Tina Fey.
