Justin Bieber Teases Role in “Batman vs. Superman,” Funny or Die Joke?

If comic book diehards are struggling to come to grip with Ben Affleck, who regained Hollywood credibility with “Argo” and “The Town,” as Batman, how would they possibly stomach the idea of pop heartthrob Justin Bieber in the film?

Bieber put that notion to the test Friday, posing for an Instagram photo with a “Batman vs. Superman” script in view.

In conjunction with the photo, Bieber posted the caption, “#robin ??”

Watermarked for “Bieber,” the script for “Batman vs. Superman” credits the film to writers David S. Goyer and Zack Snyder. It claims source inspiration from “Batman: The Dark Knight Falls.”

Before Beliebers attempt to pre-order their tickets and comic book fans attempt to swallow their vitriol, they should consider a Tweet Bieber posted Friday:

“Off to do something funny or…die :)”

One should, therefore, assume there is a good chance the Instagram photo was a comedic stunt.
