Jon Cryer Scores Major Upset Emmy Win for “Two and a Half Men”

Talk about an accomplishment–Jon Cryer has now won acting Emmys for “Two and a Half Men” in both the lead and supporting acting categories.

In what could stand as the night’s biggest upset, Cryer beat out frontrunner Jim Parsons (“The Big Bang Theory”) and critical favorite Louis CK (“Louie”), not to mention Don Cheadle (“House of Lies”), Larry David (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) and Alec Baldwin (“30 Rock”, to claim the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy.

His previous win in the Supporting Actor category, though not quite as stunning, was also seen as an upset win. “Men” remains one of the nation’s most-watched sitcoms, but it lacks significant support from critics.
