“House,” “Terra Nova” Ratings Sink, FOX Blames WWE, NFL

FOX’s underwhelming newcomer “Terra Nova” and struggling veteran “House” sank again in the ratings this week, and the network believes heavy competition from Monday Night Football and WWE RAW is to blame.

“Terra Nova” was off by 12% from last week to a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating and 7.1 million viewers, while “House” gave up 11% to a 2.5 and 6.7 million. With male demos down by a staggering 14%, FOX believes the three-hour RAW and Packers-Vikings game put the hurt on its series.

Still, slight stumble against a rivalry game and a high-profile edition of RAW that featured The Rock’s WWE return aside, this FOX lineup is having some trouble.

  1. Terra Nova numbers are down because the show just sucks. Terrible acting coupled with cringe worthy writing and (despite the hefty budget) so – so visual effects have sent the viewers packing. Highly unlikely it will return for a second season.
