“How I Met Your Mother” Ratings Impress, “Two and a Half Men” Down

“How I Met Your Mother” continues to enjoy ratings dominance in the 8PM half-hour; it absolutely dominated the competition on even week-to-week ratings.

“Mother” opened CBS’ comedy block with a 4.5 adults 18-49 rating and 10.5 million viewers. The hold from last week is particularly impressive given the fact that “Two and a Half Men” is still declining as the curiosity buzz for Ashton Kutcher’s role fades. Even with a weaker ‘halo effect’ (6.1 adults 18-49 rating and 17.3 million viewers, as compared to a 7.2 and 20 million last week), “Mother” remains strong.

Lead-out “2 Broke Girls” also held up very well in week three, generating a strong 4.4 adults 18-49 rating with 11.4 million. This show still has time to fall, but as of right now, a full season pickup looks like a guarantee.

“Mike & Molly” followed “Men” with a healthy 4.3 and 13.2 million viewers. “Hawaii 5-0” led out at a timeslot-winning 3.2 with 10.9 millio nviewers.

  1. I’m very pleased with this. I’ve always loved How I Met Your Mother and I’m quickly falling in love with 2 Broke Girls. Glad to see both are doing well!

  2. Eh. The CBS Monday Night lineup is going downhill. “2 Broke Girls” is just the same “Odd Couple” formula all over again. Two and Half Men sucks now, and Mike & Molly is a sleepfest as well.

  3. does anyone else think Ashton is not funny…john cryer should be paid the 800k per episode because he is carrying the show. They should have kept the cast and involved Herb more in the show.
