“Nikita,” “Supernatural” Ratings Fall Way Short on The CW

The CW’s new Friday lineup showed no signs of an ability to deliver the ratings goods in its debut this week.

“Nikita,” which squeaked by with a renewal based on potential, fell completely short in the adults 18-49 demo, delivering just a 0.6. With 1.9 million viewers, it again skewed fairly old–suggesting that Maggie Q and Lyndsy Fonseca remain popular with older men.

“Supernatural” is definitely missing lead-in support from “Smallvillle.” At 9PM, it garnered a 0.8 with 2.0 million viewers.

It has not been a good season thus far for The CW, which has seen “90210” again underperform, “Top Model” and “Vampire Diaries” decline, new reality show “H8R” fall completely flat and new dramas “Secret Circle” and “The Ringer” slow in their first outing against a full lineup of broadcast competition.
