WWE Reports “Release” of Major Wrestler, Is It Just The Storyline?

WWE.com posted an update Wednesday regarding Kevin Nash, who it reports was released from his contract on Monday, September 5.

Though the release reads like a typical, legitimate WWE.com “future endeavors” announcement, it is hard to assume the story is not simply an extension of the storyline on RAW.

During that show, WWE’s storyline COO Triple H “fired” Kevin Nash, who left the arena with John Laurinaitis.

WWE references the September 5 date in its announcement–normally, it puts out the release the day on which the release took effect. WWE.com also gave Nash a spot in the featured graphic, touting his standing as a former champion (an odd reference if this were a legitimate release).

It should also be noted that WWE.com reportedly moved under the creative wing on the company recently and has been playing up sensational content and storyline ideas.

At the same time, WWE’s last suspicious release announcement–that of Daniel Bryan after tie-gate–was at least somewhat legitimate.
