Backstage News For Tonight’s WWE Summerslam PPV

As is customary for WWE pay-per-views, the company went into Sunday without a finalized script.

Notably, the creative team had not made a final decision on the outcome for the John Cena vs. CM Punk match, narrowing the finish down to two possible outcomes, reported F4WOnline.com

Nonetheless, the feeling is that WWE has a better general idea of where it wants to go with the WWE Championship than is sometimes the case on pay-per-view days, so all the plans were expected to be cemented by this afternoon.

— Sources say this year’s Summerslam is so “sold out” that wrestlers were unable to get late comp tickets for friends on Sunday.

— Numerous talent from FCW and the Tough Enough show were “either brought [into Los Angeles] or came in on their own,” reports the Observer.
