Backstage News on “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Wrestling at WrestleMania

In a recent interview, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was quick to note that a rumored WrestleMania 28 match with CM Punk is not a done deal.

Interestingly, he was also quick to confirm that it is a possibility and that if he were to return for a match, standing opposite Punk would be a desirable scenario.

Sources within WWE also view the match as a possibility, noting the idea of a “Stone Cold” return has come up in creative meetings.

According to F4WOnline.com, the word is that it remains something of a longshot–no one is moving forward with the idea that it will happen.

Punk, meanwhile, has said that he would like the opportunity to wrestle Austin. At the same time, WWE also has a scenario in Punk vs. Chris Jericho, given a recent Tweet Jericho made insulting the current WWE headliner.
