NBC Turns to “Whitney,” “Chelsea,” “Free Agents” for Laughs; Trailers Revealed

NBC’s most high-profile development projects–“Smash,” “The Playboy Club” and “Awake”–came on the drama side, but the comedy side also featured a number of pickups in the network’s official announcement Sunday.

Leading the charge on the comedy side is “Whitney,” which joins NBC’s Thursday night lineup this fall. “Up all Night” and “Free Agents” combine to form a new 8PM comedy hour on Wednesdays, while “Bent,” “Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea” and “Best Friends Forever” are on the midseason slate.

Headline Planet has full details on NBC’s new comedy and drama series. Meanwhile, check out the trailers NBC submitted for next season’s comedies:

  1. My Verdict:
    Whitney: GARBAGE
    Up all night: Decent
    Free Agents: Good
Are you there Vodka? It’s me Chelsea: GARBAGE (but slightly better than Whitney)
    Bent: Good

Overall what I’m saying is: NO LAUGH TRACK SITCOMS. THEY SUCK. The only one worth watching is How I Met Your Mother.
