“House” Confirming Cast For Final Season?, Star Reportedly Takes Pay Cut

With FOX set to renew “House” for an eighth and likely final season, several of the key cast members are being re-upped for next year, Deadline reports.

Those previously without contracts for next season included Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps and Lisa Edelstein, andaccording to the story, the two males have agreed to deals for next season. Edelstein is expected to re-sign as well, with the main hold-up being that she is overseas.

Triggered by FOX’s intention to cut its licensing fee by 15-20%, an expected outcome due to the show’s weakened ratings, producing Universal Media Studios needed to make cuts, and actor salaries are one of the target areas.

Though the report uses ambiguous wording, it appears that Robert Sean Leonard will resume at his $175,000/episode fee while Epps and Edelstein will accept cuts. Eighteen episodes will be guaranteed for next season.

Star Hugh Laurie, as well as names like Olivia Wilde, are already contracted through next season.
