Latest News on Sting’s Possible WWE Debut, Undertaker, HBK Update

Although many wanted to believe the 2-21-11 vignettes were designed to hype the debut of Sting, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter says there had been no contact between WWE and the veteran wrestler prior to their airing.

The hype, which took on a life of its own, had no true basis in reality and yet fueled rumors, some of which treated a Sting debut in WWE as fact. The only substantive proof at the time was a claim from some TNA insiders that Sting was looking WWE-bound, but even his potential decision to steer clear of a future with TNA remains up in the air.

Fans might still get their wish–interest between WWE and Sting did reportedly escalate in recent weeks, but as of press time, there has been nothing even approximating a deal developed.

— Regarding the Undertaker’s tentatively-scheduled WrestleMania match, new talk suggests Undertaker might be wrestling Triple H with Shawn Michaels as the guest referee. WWE would play off Michaels’ loyalty to HHH and storyline frustration over losing his “career” at the hands of the Undertaker to tease the Hall of Fame inductee possibly screwing Undertaker out of the match and his streak.

The HHH idea has not been confirmed, although the Observer did say this week that WWE was eyeing an Undertaker match that would involve HBK in a non-wrestling capacity.

  1. Only one problem with this plan, HHH hasn’t returned yet, and Undertaker is supposedly retuning on RAW on 2.21.11. What’s the point of Taker returning when HHH won’t even be there. This whole fiasco is getting more ridiculous by the hour. Sting is coming to RAW, don’t kid yourself.
