Kid Rock Rips Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler for Judging “American Idol”

Quite complimentary of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler’s contribution to rock music, Kid Rock is nonetheless not pulling punches regarding the legendary singer’s judging role on “American Idol.”

“I think it’s the stupidest thing he’s ever done in his life,” Rock says in an interview with Entertainment Weekly magazine. “He’s a sacred American institution of rock ‘n’ roll, and he just threw it all out the window. Just stomped on it and set it on fire.”

Kid Rock’s frustration got even more intense as he called for the guillotine (seemingly the execution device, not the mixed martial arts move) as punishment for whomever adviced Tyler on accepting the gig.

“I think whoever’s advising him,” adds Rock, “we should bring back the guillotine, or whatever they call that thing. And if it was himself, he needs some serious counseling. I love him to death, but I gotta speak the truth.”

Tyler will join new judge Jennifer Lopez and original panelist Randy Jackson at the table for the upcoming tenth season of “American Idol.”
