Correspondents confirm that John Morrison wrestled Ted DiBiase in the dark match prior to WWE Night of Champions. According to a report on ProWrestling.net, the crowd was “electric” as this match built anticipation for the pay-per-view card.
Morrison won the match.
— On the Night of Champions results front, as of press time, WWE was planning to adhere to its stipulation that Chris Jericho would leave WWE if he failed to capture the title at the pay-per-view. PWInsider.com, in fact, reports that NOC marked Jericho’s final appearance with WWE for the foreseeable future.
WWE.com, interestingly, did not build its results article around the Jericho stipulation–it instead treated Randy Orton’s victory as the real story.
