“The Expendables” predictably led the weekend box office, distancing itself comfortably from a still-strong runner-up in “Eat Pray Love.”

The all-star action flick grossed an estimated $35 million, which gave it the victory over new release “Eat Pray Love” ($23.7 million). “The Other Guys,” last week’s winner, landed in third place with $18 million, topping “Inception” ($11.4 million).

“Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” the only other major new release, debuted with a soft $10.5 million, adding another box office disappointment to Michael Cera’s resume.
