Edgy “Family Guy” Brings Back “Shipoopi,” “You’ve Got a Lot To See”

Prediction: the 150th episode of “Family Guy” did not endear FOX’s long-running animated comedy to its critics within the censorship community.

The graphic and outrageous episode, entitled “Brian & Stewie,” lived up to the hype, delivering a mixture of the show’s biggest grossout gags and most ’emo’ storytelling to date.

On one end was a series of attempts at shock comedy, highlighted by a segment in which Brian literally ‘ate’ feces out of Stewie’s diaper and his rear end, that pushed the envelope even farther than usual for the always-edgy “Family Guy.” On the other were some awkwardly tender moments, including one in which Brian discussed his contemplations of suicide and another in which he and Stewie acknowledged their familial love for each other.

The extended-length episode chronicled Brian and Stewie’s exploits as they coped with being locked inside a bank vault over the course of a weekend.

In what should produce some interesting ratings data, the episode led into a collection of “Family Guy” musical moments, which joined some “unreleased” clips with fan favorites like “Shipoopi” and “You’ve Got a Lot to See.”
