“Big” Name Set For Next Week’s RAW, Tonight’s ECW

Hoping to recreate the success from last time a professional athlete hosted an edition of RAW, WWE has booked Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for next week’s show.

Joining “Big Ben” for the guest hosting occasion will be the Steelers’ offensive line.

WWE posted a big summer rating when NBA great Shaquille O’Neal served as guest host, providing some optimism about the strong crossover potential between professional sports and WWE. Interesting to booking the Steelers QB as host is the fact that the weekly RAW telecast goes head-to-head with Monday Night Football–how will Roethlisberger’s appearance affect WWE’s ability to pull fans away from the football game?
