Tearful Kristin Chenoweth Wins Emmy For Supporting Actress

“Pushing Daisies” is no longer on the air, but the critical darling made an early splash at the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Series regular Kristin Chenoweth took the Supporting Actress in a Comedy Award, beating out big “SNL” names Amy Poehler and Kristen Wiig, along with traditional scripted series rivals in Elizabeth Perkins (“Weeds”), Vanessa Williams (“Ugly Betty”) and Jane Krakowski (“30 Rock”).

A teary Chenoweth, who thanked the Academy for recognizing a canceled show, jokingly campaigned for roles on “Mad Men” and “24.”
