Correction, Update On Ric Flair Leaving ROH Show

PWInsider, which first reported the story on Ric Flair walking out of Saturday’s Ring of Honor Event, has retracted a significant part of its report.

According to the story, Flair did not simply “walk out” to the surprise of Ring of Honor management. Though he did not perform in his advertised role as a guest enforcer for the Championship main-event, Flair had previously informed ROH officials of his plans to leave the event after his promo. Thus, the idea that all of the ROH officials were shocked as they scrambled to keep “The Nature Boy” from leaving is not true.

Reports first broke last night that Ric Flair had “walked out” on a Ring of Honor event. Sources backstage say that despite having agreed to serve as a guest outside enforcer, when it came time to go over spots for his match, Flair said that he was only there to sign autographs and deliver his promo. Once his promo was delivered, he packed up and left.

Both PWInsider and F4WOnline acknowledge that a key issue for Flair was the fact that HDNet had cameras at the event. En route to a WWE return, Flair did not wish to appear, in any way, on upcoming ROH television shows.
