Pitbull & Kesha’s “Timber” Earns 6X Platinum Certification

Pitbull | RCA

July 23, 2015 was a big day for Pitbull’s “Timber (featuring Kesha).”

The song, which had sold millions of copies but not formally received a certification from the RIAA, received a 6X platinum certification.

Under the terms of the RIAA’s digital singles program, a 6X platinum distinction confirms a US unit total of at least 6 million. A unit is equal to 1 sale or 100 streams.

Since “Timber” had not previously been certified, it retroactively received gold, platinum, 2x platinum, 3x platinum, 4x platinum and 5x platinum marks on July 23.
