The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face,” “The Hills” Officially Go Platinum in the US

This past weekend, Headline Planet exclusively reported that The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” crossed the 1 million US sales mark.

Responsible for over 800,000 paid US downloads, fellow “Beauty Behind the Madness” single “The Hills” will get there soon.

But insofar as the RIAA’s digital singles program considers 100 streams equivalent to 1 paid download, both were able to score platinum certifications.

According to the RIAA, the two singles earned platinum distinctions on July 27, 2015. That platinum certification, as noted, confirms a US unit total in excess of 1 million.

The Weeknd’s “Earned It,” which originally appeared on the “50 Shades of Grey” soundtrack and is also included on the “Beauty” tracklist, has already been certified 3X platinum.
