Justin Bieber’s “One Time,” “Never Say Never” Confirmed as 5X Platinum

The Recording Industry Association of America last month awarded new certifications to three Justin Bieber singles.

“One Time” and “Never Say Never,” two of those singles, received 5X platinum awards.

The 5X certification, which is official as of February 27, confirms that the songs have amassed US unit totals in excess of 5 million. Under the terms of RIAA’s digital singles program, a “unit” is equivalent to a paid download or 100 audio or visual streams.

In addition to their 5X platinum awards, the two singles also received 2x, 3x and 4x platinum certifications in February.

The other Bieber certifications came for Bieber’s “Mistletoe.” The song was named a 2x platinum digital single (and also received a 1x platinum notation).
