Responding head-on to The Rock’s promo on Monday Night RAW, John Cena wryly ate Fruity Pebbles during a segment at Sunday’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
Mocking his bright-colored wardrobe, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson likened Cena to a big, fat bowl of Fruity Pebbles during the electric RAW segment. Rather than addressing Rock with vitriol, the Cena character was at least initially booked to take Rock’s verbal assault in stride–he jokingly ate the cereal and then referred to himself as “Yabba, Dabba Delicious” in a segment prior to his Elimination Chamber match.
The segment sent “Fruity Pebbles” surging up the online trending list, with the US Twitter topic chart ranking the cereal third (behind NBA All Star-related searches #rihanna and #teamwest). Trish Stratus, who return to announce her upcoming “trainer” gig on “Tough Enough” is trending in the top ten as well.
