FOX Cancels “Sons of Tucson,” NBC Keeps “Marriage Ref”

From the get go, there was no facade about “Sons of Tucson.” With its disappointing ratings in the post-“Family Guy” slot, the comedy’s only real chance at survival was if the entire FOX lineup fell apart.

That did not happen, and after posting an abysmal 1.4 adults 18-49 rating Sunday after a “Family Guy” re-run, the show’s future on FOX officially ended. FOX has pulled the sitcom from its schedule and plans to burn off the remaining episodes in the summer.

Elsewhere, NBC renewed “The Marriage Ref,” “Minute to Win It” and “Who Do You Think You Are.” All have been modest performers, but as NBC has few proven, superior alternatives on its roster–the renewals were no-brainers.
