The BPI’s weekly certifications announcement included good news for Sia and Nicki Minaj.

Songs by both artists received new multi-platinum certifications.

Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” officially went triple platinum this week, while Minaj’s “Starships” crossed into double-platinum territory.

The triple platinum award signifies 1.8 million in UK units. The double-platinum award confirms 1.2 million in UK units.

Not simply geared to Sia’s solo version, the “Cheap Thrills” certification also accounts for the popular Sean Paul remix.

Both songs, interestingly enough, peaked at #2 on the Official UK Singles Chart.
