Ratings: “Empire” Drops To New Low, Still Wins Night; “STAR” Also Down

Based on preliminary ratings, Wednesday’s “Empire” set new lows in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.

While it did not set new lows, lead-out “STAR” also endured week-to-week declines.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s “Empire” drew a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 5.54 million overall viewers.

Barring upward adjustments, those numbers will rank as new series lows for the flagship FOX drama.

Last week’s “Empire” drew a 2.0 in the demo and 5.93 million in viewership.

Despite the week-to-week decline, “Empire” still ranked as Wednesday’s top broadcast network show in adults 18-49.

— “Empire” led into “STAR,” which drew a 1.3 rating and 4.34 million viewers. Last week’s episode posted a 1.5 in the demo and 4.51 million in viewership.
