Update: In a Monday afternoon Tweet, Fifth Harmony confirmed that its new single will be called “Down.”
As reported by Headline Planet, the song will be released on Friday, June 2.
While Fifth Harmony’s Tweet confirms the song title and release date, it does not directly address Gucci Mane’s rumored involvement in “Down.”
A separate Tweet may, however, be teasing the rapper’s involvement. Fifth Harmony member Normani Kordei shared GPS coordinates (where one can use a Snapchat geofilter to obtain lyrics), and those coordinates point to The Galleria shopping mall in her hometown of Houston.
One of the stores in that mall? Gucci.
For those unaware of the story behind the rumor, Gucci Mane (real name Radric Davis) is officially listed as a co-writer of the track. The International Standard Recording Code database, meanwhile, credits both Fifth Harmony and Gucci Mane as recording artists.

Fifth Harmony’s new single is arriving this Friday — just in time for the group’s “Good Morning America Summer Concert Series” performance.
In recent days, speculation been emerging regarding the song’s identity.
Aided by certain clues (including publishing registration and a Snapchat snippet), fans have surmised that the song will be called “Down.”
Sunday morning, Fifth Harmony provided indication that the fans are on the right track.
“It’s going down on @snapchat this week,” Tweeted the group. It seems unlikely that the phrase “it’s going down” is a mere coincidence.
Insofar as “Down” appears to be the new single, there is reason to believe hip-hop artist Gucci Mane is featured.
The publisher listing for Fifth Harmony’s “Down” confirms “R. Davis” as a co-writer alongside “Work From Home” writers Jude Demorest and Joshua Coleman and “WFH” producer Dallas Koehlke (DallasK). Gucci Mane’s real name is Radric Davis.
“Down” also appears in the International Standard Recording Code database, where Fifth Harmony and Gucci Mane are listed as the recording artists.
Gucci Mane, interestingly enough, released his own song called “Down” in 2016.
Fifth Harmony, Gucci Mane and Epic Records have not yet provided definitive word. One has to believe, however, that more clues will emerge ahead of Friday’s release.
It is, after all, about to go down on Snapchat.
