Zedd is about to score his first #1 hit at the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.
“Stay,” his collaboration with Alessia Cara, is on track to top this week’s listing.
“Stay” received 12,975 pop spins during the first five days of the May 21-27 tracking week. While the count currently positions “Stay” at #2 on Mediabase’s building chart, the song should have no trouble reaching #1 by the close of tracking.
It only trails The Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s building #1 “Something Just Like This” by 3 spins, and it has the clear momentum advantage. Whereas “Stay” is up 6.2% from last week, “Something Just Like This” is down -2.3%.
If both songs remain on even remotely similar trajectories over the next two days, “Stay” will easily close the three-spin gap.
Set to become Zedd’s first pop radio #1, “Stay” will meanwhile become Alessia Cara’s third. She previously topped the chart with “Here” and “Scars To Your Beautiful.”
