Ratings: HBO “Big Little Lies” Posts Slight Gain In Total Viewership

Big Little Lies [HBO]

The fourth episode of HBO’s “Big Little Lies” posted a very slight live+same-day viewership gain.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s episode averaged 1.042 million viewers. Last week’s episode reached 1.040 million.

This week’s episode did take a hit in adults 18-49 (falling from 0.41 to 0.36), but the demo rating is less crucial for the subscription-based HBO than it is for ad-supported cable and broadcast networks.

“Big Little Lies” led into “Girls,” which also improved this week. It drew a 0.31 demo rating and 0.703 million viewers; last week’s show posted a 0.24 in adults 18-49 and 0.57 million in viewership.

HBO’s Sunday also included “Crashing” (0.17, 0.444 million vs. 0.16, 0.412 million last week) and “Last Week Tonight” (0.40 rating, 1.122 million vs. 0.45, 1.278 million)
