Thanks to “Side To Side (featuring Nicki Minaj),” Ariana Grande is about to score her sixth Top 5 hit at pop radio.
“Side To Side” received 3,734 spins during the first two days of the November 13-19 tracking week. The tally slots “Side To Side” at #5 on Mediabase’s building chart.
While “Side To Side” does not have a huge lead over gnash’s building #6 “i hate u, i love u” (3,669 spins), it is accelerating at a faster pace. “Side To Side” is up 15.9% from the count at this point last week, while “i hate u, i love u” is only up 2.0%.
Given that there are no other clear threats from below, “Side To Side” should have no trouble retaining its Top 5 position through the close of tracking.
Grande previously reached the Top 5 with “Problem,” “Break Free,” “Bang Bang,” “Love Me Harder,” and “Dangerous Woman.”
With a Top 5 entry all but certain, focus will shift to whether “Side To Side” can follow “Problem” and “Bang Bang” in becoming the artist’s third pop radio #1.
