Beyonce’s “Hold Up” Earns #56 Ranking At Urban Radio, #80 At Rhythmic

Beyonce’s new single “Hold Up” has been garnering support at urban and rhythmic radio in advance of this week’s official impact.

Played 343 times during the August 7-13 tracking week, “Hold Up” ranks as the Mediabase urban panel’s #56 song. It was #59 last week.

“Hold Up” concurrently ranks as the #80 song at rhythmic radio, where it received 108 weekly spins. It was outside the Top 95 last week.

33 urban stations and 16 rhythmic stations contributed to this week’s spin totals.

As evidenced by the fact that it was last week’s #59 song at urban, airplay is not new for “Hold Up.” The song received substantial airplay following the release of “Lemonade” — before “Sorry” was cemented as the official single — and has been on the radar since.

With this coming Tuesday’s impact, however, Columbia hopes to greatly amplify that support.
