You may have heard Zedd’s “Addicted To A Memory,” on which the group provides featured vocals.
You may have heard “Wild Ones,” which appeared on a fifth season episode of MTV’s “Teen Wolf.”
If you tune into pop radio, you may soon hear Bahari’s “Dancing On The Sun.”
Interscope has added the song — which has been teased on the group’s social media accounts but not yet made available on digital retailers — to its promotional Top 40 playlist. Songs on the playlist are not assured of a pop radio campaign, but they reflect tracks Interscope is strongly considering for such a push.
Bahari has been identified as a “girl group,” but its aesthetic and sonic vibe belie the conventions of the label.
While certainly a pop tune, the eclectic “Dancing On The Sun” draws heavily from retro surf rock and alternative/modern rock influences. Certainly universal and accessible enough to appeal to a myriad of tastes, the sound may prove particularly resonant with fans of hybrid acts like HAIM and Echosmith.
