The good news continues for Kelly Clarkson.
In addition to witnessing massive sales and streaming gains for her single “Piece By Piece,” the original “American Idol” recently earned a gold certification for her 2015 album of the same name.
Billboard first reported the certification, which confirms a US unit total of at least 500,000. One album unit is equal to 1 sale, 10 track sales, or 1500 track streams.
Issued in early 2015, “Piece By Piece” has thus far spawned a platinum single in “Heartbeat Song.” Thanks to the aforementioned, “Idol”-induced sales boosts, the title track is meanwhile expected to make a major splash on next week’s Billboard Hot 100.
