Thomas Rhett Tops Hot Country Songs For 16th Week; Brett Eldredge Enters Top 5

Thomas Rhett [ABC]

Thomas Rhett’s smash “Die A Happy Man” is still America’s hottest overall country song.

The track leads Billboard’s all-encompassing Hot Country Songs chart for a fifteenth straight week — and sixteenth week overall.

In extending its reign to sixteen weeks, it ties Buck Owens’ “Love’s Gonna Live Here” as the third-longest-reigning Hot Country Songs leader in the chart’s near-sixty-year history. Only Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise” (24 weeks) and Leroy Van Dyke’s “Walk On By” (19 weeks) spent more time as America’s hottest country song.

In conjunction with its Hot Country Songs lead, “Die A Happy Man” holds at #2 on the Country Digital Songs and Country Streaming Songs chart. It slips to #9 on Country Airplay.

(Maren Morris’ “My Church,” which is #7 on Hot Country, leads Country Digital. Sam Hunt’s “Break Up In A Small Town” stays atop Country Streaming as it slips to #4 on Hot Country, while Keith Urban’s “Break On Me” leads Country Airplay in conjunction with a #6 spot on the all-encompassing chart)

Carrie Underwood’s “Heartbeat” holds at #2 on the all-encompassing Hot Country Songs chart, while Cole Swindell’s “You Should Be Here” enjoys a two-place lift to #3. Up three places, Brett Eldredge’s “Drunk On Your Love” takes #5 beneath the aforementioned “Break Up In A Small Town.”
