Ratings: Showtime’s “Billions,” “Shameless” Rise Again

Billions [Showtime]

Unlike the February 7 installments, last week’s editions of “Billions” and “Shameless” were not faced with the burden of Super Bowl competition.

Predictably, they enjoyed huge ratings gains.

They did not, however, air in optimal circumstances. Last Sunday marked Valentine’s Day, which surely drew potential audience members away from their television sets.

Facing neither such disadvantage, this week’s episodes outperformed last week’s broadcasts.

Per Nielsen L+SD cable data, Sunday’s “Billions” drew a 0.38 adults 18-49 rating and 1.172 million total viewers in the 10PM hour. Lead-in “Shameless” scored a 0.72 rating and reached 1.658 million audience members at 9PM.

Last week’s “Billions” posted a 0.33 with 1.010 million. Last week’s “Shameless” drew a 0.60 and 1.590 million.
