Numerous songs debut on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, but most are tracks from either Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” or One Direction’s “Made In The AM.”
There are two exceptions.
One is Jordan Smith’s “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” which debuts at #30 on the all-encompassing chart.
The other is Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which takes the #97 position.
Since Smith’s tune launched in conjunction with “The Voice” on the evening of November 16 and “IKWYDLS” debuted late on the night of November 17, neither song was available for the complete tracking period. This week’s Hot 100 is based on a November 13-19 streaming and sales tracking week and a November 16-22 radio tracking week (radio is a non-factor for “The Voice” numbers).
Despite only two full days of tracking week availability, “I Know What You Did” debuts at #17 on the Digital Songs subchart. While it did receive opening week airplay and streaming activity, it did not generate enough to land on the actual Radio Songs or Streaming Songs subcharts.
