Empire’s Yazz Scores iHeartRadio “On The Verge” Boost for “Bout 2 Blow”

As “No Doubt About It (featuring Jussie Smollett and Pitbull)” begins to gain traction at the pop and rhythmic radio formats, fellow “Empire” single “Bout 2 Blow (featuring Yazz and Timbaland)” is seeking airplay at the urban format.

Its quest to gain that airplay will be assisted by one of the radio industry’s most valuable programs.

iHeartRadio confirms that Bryshere “Yazz” Gray is its new “On the Verge” artist at the urban format. As part of the campaign, “Bout 2 Blow” will receive branding support across the iHeartRadio network and guaranteed airplay on iHeartMedia’s urban stations.

Such airplay will not automatically turn “Bout 2 Blow” into a hit, but it will give the song a legitimate opportunity to connect with audiences.

Yazz, who plays Hakeem Lyon on “Empire,” joins forces with superstar artist-producer Timbaland on the new single. As is the case with all “Empire” singles, the performers are credited as featured artists. “Empire Cast” receives lead billing.
