The Weeknd Retains #1 at Pop Radio; Demi Lovato’s “Cool for the Summer” Now Top 5

The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” once again ranks as pop radio’s biggest song.

Spun ~18,052 times during the August 23-29 tracking week (-676), “Can’t Feel My Face” earns a fourth straight week at #1 on the Mediabase pop chart.

While a victory is a victory, this week’s win came via a very narrow margin. Major Lazer’s soaring “Lean On (featuring DJ Snake & MØ)” received a healthy ~17,746 spins during the official tracking week (+1,591).

Up to #2 this week, “Lean On” appears poised to reach #1 on next week’s chart.

Selena Gomez’ “Good For You (featuring A$AP Rocky)” rises one place to #3 on the strength of its ~16,068 plays (+1,180), while OMI’s “Cheerleader” (#4, -2 | ~14,097, -2,656) and Demi Lovato’s “Cool for the Summer” (#5, +2 | ~12,972, +1,504).

The Lovato song is making its first appearance in the Top 5. It is the artist’s fourth career single (after “Give Your Heart a Break,” “Heart Attack,” and “Neon Lights”) to reach that region of the chart.
