==================

June brought news that Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” has been certified gold under the RIAA’s Digital Singles program.

It also brought confirmation that Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song,” which Swift has helped promote, has earned a gold certification of its own.

According to an update from the RIAA, Platten’s Top 15 hit officially received its gold certification on June 18. The certification confirms that the song has moved at least 500,000 units in the United States.

A unit is equivalent to either 1 paid download or 100 streams.

With “Fight Song” continuing to sell like hotcakes, it is doubtfully far removed from the platinum threshold.
