USA Network Renews “Mr. Robot” For Season 2 Ahead of Wednesday’s Series Premiere

USA Network is confident that “Mr. Robot,” which premieres Wednesday night, will be a success.

So confident, in fact, that it picked up a second season of the drama in advance of Wednesday’s official series premiere.

“We knew from the moment we read Sam Esmail’s provocative script, and witnessed the brilliant performances of Rami Malek and Christian Slater, that Mr. Robot is a stand-out series that is unlike anything currently on television,” said USA’s Chris McCumber. “The overwhelmingly positive fan reactions to the pilot and the broad sampling of it, reaffirms our confidence in the series, and we’re excited to see where this timely drama will take us for season two.”

While it does not air on USA Network until Wednesday night, the pilot episode has already been made available for digital streaming. It has thus far commanded more than 2.7 million viewers and ample fan enthusiasm.

Set to air in 2016, the second season will include at least ten episodes.
