Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood (featuring Kendrick Lamar)” has finally been knocked from its perch atop the iTunes all-genre single sales chart.
The song that did so is one Swift herself has been aggressively promoting.
Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song,” that track, made the leap to #1 early Monday.
While “Fight Song” has spent the past several weeks reaping the rewards of growing airplay and inclusion in numerous television campaigns, it received a particularly strong boost from a Taylor Swift Instagram video.
Posted last week, the video featured Platten, Swift and Kelsea Ballerini singing “Fight Song” backstage at a “1989” World Tour concert. On the heels of that exposure, “Fight Song” rocketed into the Top 5 on iTunes.
Two days ago, Swift provided “Fight Song” with an even more potent dose of support.
After calling the track a “break out moment,” Swift introduced Platten as a special guest for the Philadelphia iteration of the “1989” World Tour. The two performed the song before the crowd; footage quickly circulated throughout the Internet.
