CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” is nearing its conclusion, and that means every episode from this point forward will possess a special appeal.
Each will also possess an intriguing lineup of interview and musical guests.
Friday’s show features an interview with actor Alec Baldwin and a performance by musical guest John Mayer.
No stranger to the CBS late night scene – Mayer has previously performed on “Letterman,” and he recently guest-hosted three “Late Late Show” episodes – Mayer performs Friday outside of an album cycle. As a result, he can leverage his musical talent to cover a classic.
That classic is “American Pie.” The multi-faceted musician confirmed the song selection earlier this week and performed it at the taping.
The performance airs as part of Friday’s “Late Show with David Letterman,” which will occupy CBS’ airwaves from 11:35AM-12:35AM.
