Ratings: “Lizzie Borden Chronicles” Falls Sharply from 2014 Movie

Modestly rated, Sunday’s premiere of “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles” had nothing on the 2014 original movie that spawned the series.

“Lizzie Borden Took an Ax,” that movie, drew 4.4 million viewers for its January 2014 premiere. Sunday’s “Lizzie Borden Chronicles” premiere, meanwhile, drew a mere 1.14 million viewers for its first telecast.

Responsible for similarly unremarkable ratings of 0.38 in adults 18-49, 0.29 in adults 18-34 and 0.46 in adults 25-54, “Lizzie Borden” was far from a killer performer – even in the context of the Easter holiday.

“Lizzie Borden” also turned away a considerable portion of its lead-in. Airing in the preceding 8-10PM slot, Lifetime’s “If There Be Thorns” drew a 0.62 rating with 1.83 million viewers.
