The Voice’s Clinton Washington, India Carney Climb iTunes Chart with “Stay”

The standout battle from Monday’s edition of “The Voice” is climbing the iTunes single sales chart.

Good enough to secure contestants India Carney and Clinton Washington positions in the Knockout Round, the stunning rendition of “Stay” currently holds the #84 position on the all-genre iTunes chart. It is the only “The Voice” performance within the Top 100.

With no voting impact–let alone a vote multiplier–present at this stage of the competition, charting on iTunes is far from an easy task. The performances that vault into the Top 100 do so on the basis of a special resonance with viewers, and it is clear “Stay” achieved that resonance.

By winning the battle, India earned the right to continue as part of Team Christina. Clinton, however, survived thanks to a “steal” from coach Adam Levine.
