Kanye West Confirms Plans to Record with Taylor Swift

Ever since Kanye West’s infamous microphone-snatching encounter at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, logic suggested he and Taylor Swift would eventually make up and record music together.

More than five years have passed since that night, and reality is finally supporting that logic.

During an “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” interview, Kanye West confirmed that he has plans to go into the recording studio with the singer-songwriter behind the blockbuster “1989” album.

“She wants to get in the studio, and we’re definitely going to go in,” confirmed West. “Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work.”

The news comes days after the 57th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony. While West’s nod to the aforementioned VMAs moment–and later rant about Beck’s upset Album of the Year victory over Beyonce–commanded the majority of headlines, some media outlets did report on an encounter between Swift and West.

Photos from the awards show revealed the two shaking hands — and seemingly engaging in pleasant conversation.

West did not reveal the project(s) on which collaborations with Swift might emerge.

Kanye West is currently readying his 7th studio album. Per official press material, the LP is due to feature several collaborations with Paul McCartney (including single “Only One”).

Swift will doubtfully release a new album before 2016, but that does not mean she would have no interim use for a Kanye-aided recording.
