HBO’s original comedies “Girls” and “Togetherness” took massive viewership hits in the face of competition from this weekend’s Grammy Awards and “The Walking Dead” broadcasts.
Low-rated “Looking,” which aired opposite the Grammys and “Better Call Saul,” also struggled.
“Girls,” which has already been renewed for a fifth season, drew a paltry 0.2 adults 18-49 rating with 406,000 viewers. As far as the initial broadcast goes, it was the least-watched “Girls” episode on record.
The previous episode drew a 0.3 rating with 721,000 viewers.
“Togetherness,” which received a second season renewal after enjoying a ratings uptick for its third episode, also took a beating amid the difficult competitive environment. Sunday’s episode drew a 0.1 adults 18-49 rating with 271,000 viewers.
Both marks were down from those of the previous episode, which posted a 0.2 with 472,000 viewers.
“Looking” followed with a 0.1 rating and 192,000 viewers. Its previous installment earned a 0.2 with 324,000 viewers.
