Benefiting from increased streaming activity (including the late-week release of its video), rising airplay and exposure during NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” Nicki Minaj’s “Only (featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown)” rockets to a new peak position on the Billboard Hot 100.
Already an established top 40 hit (it was #32 on last week’s chart), the track this week surges to #12 on the all-encompassing Hot 100 listing.
Billboard pegs the song as its greatest streaming gainer and a standout overall performance gainer.
Not simply one of the week’s big risers, Minaj’s “Only” is also the only new addition to the top 15, 20, 25 or 30. One would have to look to the Top 35 and Top 40 to find other songs that pass new checkpoints this week.
Those include:
— Vance Joy’s “Riptide,” which rises five places to #32.
— Alesso’s “Heroes (we could be – featuring Tove Lo),” which jumps fourteen places to #35.
— Usher’s “I Don’t Mind (featuring Juicy J),” which climbs eight places to #37.
— Tim McGraw’s “Shotgun Rider,” which enters the top 40 at #39.
Carrie Underwood’s “Something in the Water” and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” re-enter the Top 40 at #38 and #40, respectively.
