Hot 100: Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town Rocket Into Top 40

From exposure during the 48th Annual Country Music Association Awards to video releases to increased airplay, the biggest names in country received ample boosts last week. The results are evident on the all-encompassing Hot 100 chart.

Leading the charge this week is Carrie Underwood’s “Something in the Water.” Benefiting from Underwood’s acclaimed CMA Awards performance and the launch of its official video, “Water” returns to the Top 40 at #28. Up 27 places from last week’s spot, the song remains four positions away from its #24 peak.

Little Big Town’s “Day Drinking” also hops into the Top 40 this week. Up twenty one places from last week’s mark, “Day Drinking” follows “Pontoon” as the act’s second top forty hit.

Other country movers include:

— Brad Paisley’s “Perfect Storm” climbs twelve places to #65.

— Eric Church’s “Talladega” rises nineteen places to #69.

— Florida Georgia Line’s “Sun Daze” jumps seventeen spots to #78.

— RaeLynn’s “God Made Girls” surges twelve places to #85.

— “Til It’s Gone,” Kenny Chesney’s latest release, is up ten places to #90.

— Brett Eldredge’s “Mean to Me” debuts on the chart at #95. Darius Rucker’s “Homegrown Honey” does so at #97.
