Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt” Rockets Into Top 40 at Country

It took Florida Georgia Line’s new single “Dirt” just one day to enter the Top 40 on Mediabase’s rolling country radio airplay chart.

Considering the chart bases its rankings on airplay from the trailing seven days, landing in the Top 40 with only a single day of credited spins is a rare–and significant–accomplishment.

According to the industry resource, “Dirt” earned 993 spins Tuesday. That count ranks as the 39th-largest for the measured period, which tracks airplay data from July 2 through July 8.

The song’s opening day audience impression count of 9.65 million, meanwhile, ranks as the 32nd-largest weekly total for the country format.

“Dirt,” which is the #1 song on iTunes’ sales chart, is the first single from the band’s upcoming sophomore album.
